What is poetic language? How is it different from poetry?
Poetic language is the type of wording used when writing poetry, like using very touching and descriptive words. Poetic language could also refer to the implied norms we follow when writing poetry. I know that there are not any SET norms but a lot of us follow a certain pattern, like short concise and incomplete sentences. We somehow have an idea of what a poem should look like. Another part of the poetic language could be the use of allegories, alliteration, assonance and so forth. But Poetry is the actual output. Once one glues together all the poetry elements with meaningful words then one comes up with something we choose to call poetry. Poetry has no restrictions, we feel free to talk about anything and defy anything but yet our structure and the way we write it is so conventional. I want to challenge myself in this unit and try new things with poetry and its structure.
